Nat 4/5/6 Loch Lomond Visit

Our first excursion of the new session took the National 4/5/6 pupils on a day trip to Balmaha in the beautiful Loch Lomond National park. The park rangers Adam & Helen spent the day with us talking about land use and land use conflict on the loch and in the surrounding national park area.
The sun shone and we visited some amazing vantage points giving us great views of the loch.

Our main findings of the day;

  • There are a lot of land use conflicts in the area
  • campers can be very irresponsible but new local bye-laws have cut down on 'wild camping' on the loch shore
  • ducks like having their picture taken but don't really want to be lifted up and/or eaten. We know they taste good Jordan!!
