S4 Farm Visit
S4 pupils braved a chilly and wet November morning to visit Old Mains Farm near Bishopton. This was a mixed farm producing both crops animals.
We discovered that the farm has a contract to provide top restaurants, M&S and McDonalds with their prime beef. They also supply the Scottish drinks industry with grain for brewing.
The visit really helped to put all out classroom learning into context...and pupils even got to climb into a tractor - no farm visit would be complete without that!

Second Year - Orienteering at Mugdock
Our S2 pupils had some amazing weather yesterday for their orienteering trip at Mugdock Country Park near Milngavie. The half-day event challenged pupils to two courses around the visitor centre and then venturing further afield in the park.
Everyone did well very with their map reading and nobody got too lost!

Climate Challenge Winners!
Climate Challenge Winners!
Congratulations to the four S2 Geography pupils who came up the winning design for Climate Week in March. Nine teams from Geography and Science were competing to create and present an innovative design to 'Green your Space' as part of the one hour Climate Week challenge. The boys' winning design was for an Eco-Friendly Boat which would help to clean up the canal in Clydebank by dredging rubbish, sorting and recycling it while being fish friendly and cleaning the canal water too! What a brilliant invention!

SAGT World Wise Quiz Team!
On Wednesday 1st February three brave geographers attended the Scottish division heat for the SAGT 2012 Quiz. Syndee Michie(2B2), Louise Steele-Milne (3A1) and Kevin Lawlor (4B1) took part in the general knowledge geography quiz. Facing several rounds of increasingly difficult questions our team battled hard to make it through to the heat final. Unfortunately we were bested in the final to finish in a very respectable 4th place! Well done to Sydnee, Louise and Kevin for representing Clydebank High School and displaying their fantastic geographical knowledge.
