S1 Amazonia Visit

In May S1 pupils had an excursion to Amazonia.  Here we saw a variety of animals that can be found in tropical rainforests around the world.  We got to hold some of the animals including a stick insect, a snake, a bearded dragon, a Madagascan hissing cockroach and some of us even 'high 5'd' a tarantula!  For more photos click this link.

S4 Residential Field Trip to Kingdrogan

In March the S4 pupils went on a residential trip to the Kindrogan Field Studies Centre.  Here we learned practical skills whilst studying a river.  We learned the different techniques used to measure the depth, flow and width of the river as well as learning how to avoid falling in!

We have just 2 places left available on our fantastic 5 day trip to Sicily next September. Anyone who is interested should see Mrs McNiven or Mr Hunter as soon as possible for further details.

S2 Orienteering at Mugdock Country Park September 2015

The first trip for our new CfE S2 pupils took us to Mugdock Country park near Milngavie. Pupils had a great time using their map skills to find their way round the basic orienteering course. Many pupils were up for the challenge and became very competitive with each other. The first 4 groups returned with only a few seconds separating their final times. Other groups preferred to stroll round the course and enjoy the scenery along the way. Well done to everyone who took part - what a great start to the term!
